What will I do?

Today was a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG day, and we participated in so many activities and learned so much information.  I think it will take me a while to process all of this.  I am excited about it, though.  I really liked learning code a lot more than I'd thought I would, and now I'm not as scared about sharing that experience with the students.  At least now I have a better understanding of the concept behind using code, so I feel better about learning along side my students.

My first inclination after today's activity is to do an adventure game.  I think I am drawn to that type of game because it really stems from a story---so I'll be using some of my English/Language Arts background in the development of the game.

I really enjoyed Carrie's presentation about the Icivics games and sites.  I can't wait to get to look around at the games on the site to get some ideas and to play with my son!

  1. Your idea about the type of game to use makes me see how an adventure style game might really lend itself to teaching and applying the narrative genre. You've got to have characters, setting and plot. If you add the civics piece we learned, that could be the moral. Very cool!
